I am a philosopher at
(Faculty of Humanities and Sciences
I work in the philosophy of language and logic.
My current interests are developing a formal semantical theory for Japanese,
and the ontology of types and tokens.
After studying at the University of Tokyo and the University of Michigan,
I taught at Kumamoto University (1978-1988), Chiba University (1988-1998),
and Keio University (1988-2010). Since 2010, I am teaching at Nihon University.
I am a professor emeritus at Keio University.
